- On March 26, Yoyi C launched its new Yoyi C Galacto-Oligosaccharide Probiotic Drink. The product has obtained the Domestic Health Food Registration Certificate, commonly known as the “Blue Hat” certification, issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation, and its packaging highlights two approved functional claims: “helps regulate intestinal flora” and “helps digestion.”
- Juneyao Runying launched OralPOP® Probiotic Popping Candy Solid Beverage. Each stick of the product contains 10 billion CFU of active probiotics and features a blend of three core strains, including Lactobacillus paracasei Lpc-G110 and Lactobacillus salivarius LS-G60. In synergy with vitamin C, it may help improve oral issues such as bad breath and gum bleeding.
- As of the market close on April 17, Juneyao Health had posted three consecutive daily limit-ups. Recently, probiotic stocks associated with the weight-management theme, including Menovo and Scitop Biotech, have also recorded notable share price gains.
- Yili launched a new product, Fiber Control Probiotic Freeze-Dried Powder. According to available information, the new product is centered on the patented K56 strain isolated from the gut of healthy Chinese infants, combined with the B420 strain, and its formula also includes botanical ingredients such as coix seed, white kidney bean extract, blood orange extract, green coffee bean, and tea polyphenols.
- On April 14, Yili upgraded its Xinhuo milk powder line. The product has been optimized in both formulation and functionality to address the health needs of middle-aged and elderly consumers in areas such as bone, joint, gut, and immune health. It incorporates a proprietary probiotic strain developed in-house. The Bone Energy series features a patented glucosamine and high-calcium formula that supports both bone and joint health, while the premium version was co-developed with Tong Ren Tang and includes traditional food-based wellness ingredients such as ginseng and goji berries.
- On April 11, the smart probiotic factory of Inner Mongolia Scitop Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Scitop, was officially completed in Hohhot, with a total investment of RMB 1.88 billion (≈ US$275.7 million). The facility is currently the largest smart probiotic factory in Asia, covering a total area of about 2,583,339 square feet.. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate an average annual increase in output value of RMB 4 billion (≈ US$586.7 million).
- On April 21, Scitop Biotech disclosed its 2025 annual report, showing operating revenue of RMB 366 million, approximately US$53.31 million, up 20.85% year on year, and net profit of RMB 94.5194 million, approximately US$13.77 million, up 0.17% year on year. At the same time, the company released its first-quarter 2026 financial report, reporting operating revenue of RMB 84.9959 million, approximately US$12.38 million, up 9.51% year on year, and net profit of RMB 14.9513 million, approximately US$2.18 million, down 26.46% year on year.
- The 29th China International Food Additives and Ingredients Exhibition (FIC 2026) officially opened in Shanghai. Juneyao Runying, a leading domestic probiotic manufacturer, made a concentrated debut with multiple new products and held a new product launch and tasting event that afternoon, showcasing star strains such as J26 and AKKBG-001®, as well as innovative products including OralPOP® Probiotic Popping Candy, Runying Min+® Active Lactic Acid Bacteria Powder, and starter cultures.
- On April 15, East Buy officially announced that six of its self-owned health food products had obtained Blue Hat certification. This is also a relatively rare case of a leading livestream e-commerce host’s private-label brand proactively applying for Blue Hat certification for its health food products. The company also plans to expand into cross-border health food products. The six products that obtained Blue Hat certification this time are two vitamin and mineral tablets, glucosamine chondroitin calcium tablets, coenzyme Q10 softgels, DHA algal oil, and liquid calcium. To date, East Buy has sold more than 5 million boxes of probiotics cumulatively. Top livestreamers such as Yuhui Tongxing, Dad Review, and Zhang Xiaohui also possess strong sales power. Yuhui Tongxing alone surpassed RMB 20 billion in GMV in 2025, approximately US$2.91 billion, comparable to a sizable sales channel.
- Recently, Nutrition Care, a nutrition brand under Ausnutria, launched its new NC sleep-support probiotic product. The core breakthrough of the product lies in its use of Bifidobacterium breve CCFM1025, a patented strain from Jiangnan University. In October 2025, Ausnutria renewed its strategic partnership with Jiangnan University for another six years and obtained exclusive authorization for the strain. Reportedly, CCFM1025 does not directly induce sleep. Instead, it helps promote sleep onset by suppressing overactivation of the HPA axis (the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis), lowering cortisol levels, and easing anxiety, while also promoting the gut synthesis of serotonin and the brain’s calming neurotransmitter GABA.
- On April 15, Yakult Live Lactic Acid Bacteria Milk Beverage (Mango Flavor) was first launched through Yakult’s official stores on major e-commerce platforms and through Yakult home delivery centers across different regions. Starting from April 17, it will be rolled out gradually at offline retail outlets nationwide, including supermarkets and convenience stores. Each bottle contains 10 billion Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota (LcS) and is fortified with calcium and vitamin D.
- Recently, Vitatree launched two new traditional Chinese wellness gummies, one being a prepared rehmannia, angelica, and iron-rich gummy, and the other a digestive health probiotic gummy containing probiotic BC99 and the postbiotic LycheePlus.
- From late October 2025 to March this year, the Consumer Research Institute of Beijing News randomly purchased 30 probiotic products from different platforms and commissioned a third-party professional testing institution to measure viable bacterial counts. All testing reports were CMA-certified. The test results showed that seven probiotic products had measured viable counts far below their labeled values. Among them, one product that claimed to contain 75 billion CFU per gram was found to contain only 22,000 viable bacteria per gram in actual testing.
- National Food Safety Standard Review Committee seeks comments on 37 Draft National Food Safety Standards, Including “Labeling of Prepackaged Foods for Special Dietary Uses”. The public consultation period will remain open until June 6.
- On April 24, Sirio Pharma simultaneously released its 2025 annual report and its first-quarter 2026 report. In fiscal year 2025, the company recorded operating revenue of RMB 4.263 billion (approximately US$620.8 million), up 1.23% year on year, and net profit of RMB 137 million (approximately US$19.9 million). In the first quarter of 2026, revenue reached RMB 1.003 billion (approximately US$146.1 million), up 5.15% year on year.
- Recently, Douyin(AKA TikTok) E-commerce announced that it is advancing a special rectification campaign targeting cross-border dietary supplements, with a focus on cracking down on practices such as falsifying imported-product claims and making false efficacy claims. Platform inspections found that some merchants had packaged domestically made products as imported goods and claimed that the products could “reduce fat,” “boost immunity,” or “support cardiovascular health,” thereby misleading consumers. The platform has already taken measures against violators, including removing merchants from the platform, freezing payments, and taking products offline, while also cooperating with relevant authorities on offline enforcement actions.
- On April 22, in its latest response on an investor interaction platform, By-Health’s board secretary revealed that supplemental materials for the new functional claim filing and product registration application for Xinluosu have already been submitted and are currently still under review. In addition, the company stated that the primary health functions of its related probiotic products are “regulating intestinal flora” and “enhancing immunity.” By-Health has conducted multiple in vitro, animal, and human clinical studies on its proprietary probiotic strains to explore their efficacy in areas such as regulating glucose and lipid metabolism, weight management, intestinal barrier repair, and uric acid reduction.
